The Grover Art Collection Chenin Blanc makes a strong first impression in the glass, with a deep and intense golden hue.
Aroma Review
Pronounced and nicely varied, it offers a very good aromatic profile, with cozy honey notes sitting alongside rich, ripe pineapple, rustic straw and a hint of apple. There is plenty to explore without the wine trying too hard to make a dramatic entrance.
Taste Review
On the palate, it settles into a fairly relaxed balance. Medium acidity and body give it a comfortable structure, while the medium viscosity adds a little weight. The alcohol is pleasantly light, and a touch of sweetness rounds things out without turning the wine into liquid dessert. Flavours are distinct and reasonably expressive, with enough complexity to keep things interesting.
The balance works well overall, although the finish is where the wine loses a few points. It is moderate in length but brings an unpleasant bitterness that rather overstays its welcome. Not exactly the grand finale I was hoping for, but thankfully it does not erase the enjoyment of what came before.
