Ambi Cab Shiraz

Ambi Cab Shiraz

Ambi Cab Shiraz from Ambi Vineyards might raise a few eyebrows with its unconventional blend of Cabernet (Sauvignon?) and Shiraz. If you’re curious or looking for something to cook with, this bottle could be an option. Approach with caution and perhaps keep it on standby for simpler pairings or culinary experiments.

Tasting Notes:

Ambi Cab Shiraz

Oh, Ambi Cab Shiraz, what have you done? At first glance, this wine seems to promise an adventure.

Visual Review

The color is a bit of a mystery—pale garnet, clear, and intense but suspiciously transparent for a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. I mean, shouldn’t this combo look more deep and inky?

Aroma Review

Well, let’s just say it’s playing hard to get. The aroma is, let’s call it “below average,” with basic characteristics.

You might catch a whiff of toast, strawberry, black currant, and black olive if you really focus, but there’s also an unpleasant hint of cooked fruits lingering.

It’s fair, but it’s not exactly going to sweep you off your feet.

Taste Review

Oh boy, where do we start? High acidity, light body, and medium alcohol give it a bit of warmth, but the tannins? Virtually non-existent.

It’s dry but offers flavors that feel a little overripe—think strawberries that have been sitting out too long, red plum, black currant, and, again, that black olive.

Flavor intensity is moderate, but the balance? Poorly handled. There’s limited complexity here, and let’s just say the finish checks out early.

Overall, the tasting experience is meh, definitely no fireworks. It has zero aging potential, so you might as well use it for cooking rather than waiting for a miracle in the bottle. The quality level of this wine is, sadly, poor. Better luck next time, Ambi.
